This year at the Cache Valley Christmas Showcase and Online Auction, we are raising money for business loans for some hardworking and motivated Ugandans who could use a little hand up to get started building their businessses.  One of the business loans we are hoping to give is to this amazing woman.

Meet Juliet

She is incredible.  Let us tell you a few reasons why:

Juliet teaches every weekend at the Namavundu Literacy Center, where she voluntarily teaches 0 to 18 year olds how to speak, read and write English along with other important life skills like math and baking.  She does this because she loves children and doesn’t get paid anything except the satisfaction of the change she is making in these people’s lives.

This isn’t the only way she serves.  Juliet is the president in the Primary organization of her church group in Gayaza, Uganda, where she serves the children (ages 3-11) each week by teaching them about the gospel of Jesus Christ and loving them in her own unique way.

At home, Juliet is a loving wife and mother… and daughter and sister and daughter-in-law and… you get the idea.  Juliet is deeply involved with family.

At play, she is competitive. She loves to win.  And she wins often, which is why you want to be on her team whether she is playing netball, volleyball or something else.  Watch closely when she plays chess – you might learn some skills.

But most relevant to the purpose of the Cache Valley Christmas Showcase, Juliet makes amazing baked goods, Uganda style.  She makes and sells a sweet treat called daddies in her community.

This is where her dream comes in, and how you can help.  She is hoping to open a small shop where she can sell her baked goods as well as other food items.

She and her husband, Hosea, have done the research, have a business plan in place, and are ready to move as soon as they receive this business loan from the Compassionate Entrepreneur Club.
